Dear 17吃瓜在线 Community,

We're excited to share that for the third year in a row, 17吃瓜在线 is participating in the Campus Race to Zero Waste, a national competition between colleges and universities to reduce waste. The competition has begun and continues through March 23. We are officially tipping off our efforts on Wednesday, February 7 at the annual Sustainability Basketball Game. Meet us at Bender Arena at 7 p.m. to cheer on the Men鈥檚 Basketball team and celebrate sustainability on campus!

We need support from our whole community. Here鈥檚 how you can get involved:聽

• Know how to sort your waste on 17吃瓜在线鈥檚 campus. Check signs and review 17吃瓜在线鈥檚 waste sorting guide.
• Decrease your use of disposable plastics. Use reusable items like a water bottle, utensil set, and coffee mug for eating on-the-go.
• Practice upcycling, reusing, or donating items like school supplies, clothing, and home goods.
• Follow 听补苍诲 聽on Instagram to stay up to date with the competition.

Coming up in the next two months, we鈥檒l host multiple opportunities to engage in more sustainable practices, including workshops where you can learn to repair clothing and host greener events. We will also offer an opportunity to commit acts of kindness for the planet at TDR, a panel event on careers in waste reduction, and a spring break office supply swap for faculty and staff. Additional information and weekly statistics will be posted on the Office of Sustainability and webpage.
