Dear 17³Ô¹ÏÔÚÏß Community,
I write today with an update on the committees formed for the searches for 17³Ô¹ÏÔÚÏß’s next Provost and Vice President of Advancement. ÌýBoth search committees will kick off this month and will work closely with search firms with deep experience in national searches for similar positions. Ìý
After close collaboration with the Faculty Senate Executive Committee, the provost search committee’s composition reflects a focus on shared governance. Search committee members were nominated by governance groups for faculty, staff, and students. ÌýTenure and term faculty were nominated through a process led by the Faculty Senate, while represented and administrative staff were nominated by union representatives and Staff Council. Students were nominated by the Undergraduate Student Senate, Graduate Leadership Council, and Student Bar Association. ÌýThe provost search committee will work closely with search firm Isaacson, Miller.

The next step will be the formal charging of the search committees and the development of position profiles that will be shared with the university community and prospective candidates.
