Submission Guidelines

We are currently soliciting proposals from 17吃瓜在线 faculty, Transatlantic Policy Center affiliates, and students at all levels to write a blog post, article, or book review for online publication by the Transatlantic Policy Center. Graduate students are particularly encouraged to submit an article proposal. In order to begin the submission process, students should send their proposal to Sofia Walsh, editor, by email to sw6116b@american.edu.

Proposals should focus on issues relating to transatlantic relations broadly defined, including: security and technology; rule of law and democratic backsliding; trade and regulations; and migration and integration. We are also interested in pieces that highlight diversity and social policy, including issues of race, gender, and culture, in the transatlantic space. Students who have produced classwork focused on transatlantic issues are encouraged to rework these academic papers into blog or article proposals. Students are also welcome to submit book review proposals for works focused on the transatlantic relations and policy. Reviews centered on recently published books will be prioritized for publication on the blog.

After a brief proposal review process, students will be given approval to begin writing their blog posts, articles, or book reviews. Students are strongly encouraged to have their full blog posts completed within two weeks after their proposal has been approved. After an editing period, the blog post will be uploaded no longer than one week after final approval is given.
