Climate, Land, and Environmental Justice

Communities of color are at the frontlines of struggles to reduce environmental harms and adapt to a rapidly changing environment. Even as Black, brown, indigenous, and other POC-run organizations are taking the lead to advance innovative pathways toward environmental justice, many of their communities continue to be disproportionately harmed by environmental hazards and degradation. ARPC works with scholars, organizations, and activists who are working to lift-up environmental perspectives of non-white and non-US communities; to dismantle historical inequalities in funding and infrastructure; and to ensure that communities of color are centered in policies, programs, and initiatives to address climate, land, and the environment.

Pointing the Farm Bill Toward Racial Justice

ARPC is thrilled to announce the release of our Pointing the Farm Bill toward Racial Justice toolkit. Created in partnership with the Federation of Southern Cooperatives, and based on the analysis of many grassroots organizations and farmers at our 2023 Farm Bill Summit, the toolkit outlines opportunities for advancing racial justice and equity, along with climate justice, in the 2024 Farm Bill and beyond.
